Hosted by nationally touring comedian John Poveromo, Dystopia Tonight dares to ask the question: Is this too much? Are we hurtling through a dystopian nightmare, trapped in an endless, self-perpetuating whirlpool of clickbaity headlines, viral memes, and doomscroll-fueled chaos? A carnival of absurdity where every click feels like another nail in society’s coffin? Or is this the moment before we wake up, pull the plug, and rewrite the story — hoping someone remembered to hit record? Either way, welcome to Dystopia Tonight.

1hr 27 min
There’s no question that Ricky Byrd’s had an amazing music career. Touring with Joan Jet and the Blackhearts and giving a hilarious induction speech at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to recount a few stories from this show, but if you had told me he had a rich love for comedy and it’s history woven into all of it I may not have believed you. Thankfully I had the pleasure of having him on Dystopia to talk everything from his incredible career to hanging out and watching the best comics to ever take the stage and shoot from the hip when he was touring. We discuss favorite tv shows, rock legends he’s shared the stage with, his early influences, comedy and comedians, and we drop names you’ll definitely have to Google if you want to follow along. Most of all we have fun doing it. Enjoy!

In the tradition of Abbie Hoffman, Bill Hicks, and Bill Maher, from the depths of the left side of the blogosphere, the Rude Pundit steps forth to defend the right to be liberal, to be sexually suspect, to be broke and pissed-off-and to make fun of Republicans all the time!
We have a blast deep diving into the truckers from Canada, Jon Stewart, Joe Rogan, Tim Robbins, twitter feuds, our mutual love and respect for John Fugelsang, how Lee’s upbringing shaped his politics and point of view to this very day, and more! Enjoy!
